Revelations are a wonderous source of knowledge and wisdom that come with phenomena and often times unexplainable events. They come at a time of extreme hardship (such as the time of Musa) or serious deviation from the path of guidance (such as the time of Abraham, Jesus, Muhammad and others). Revelations are send from the Creator of the Heavens and the Earth and can be new knowledge, commandments, good news, bad news or all of the previous.

The geographic location and the type of people it descended on is also important as each location will have its own series of trials and tribulations, and hence own set of wisdom and commandments.
